Shaun and Paul Bailey dominate Lake Casitas. Back to back wins on Lake Casitas makes this team the team to beat. Their last tournament they weighed in over 44 pounds, which is a new lkae record for 5 fish, and at the National bass West tournament they weighed in 35.09 pounds. They outdistanced the field by almost 11 pounds! They took home $3327 for the win. Second place went to Jeff Garcia and Ed Cox with 24.12 pounds and $1050 for their finish. Another consistent team is the Father and Son team of Darvin and Roger Fischer. They weighed in 20.43 pounds and took home $650. These guys are always in the hunt and manager to put themselves in position to win almost every tournament. Fourth place went to the team of Tony Capparelli and Carol Martens. With 20.43 pounds they went home with $692 . The fifth place team was last years Havasu Classic Champions Steve Davies and Mike Rooke. They weighed in 19.06 pounds and took home $487.
With 2 tournaments to go for the Southwest Region the point’s race is really heating up. Sabino Cici and Frank King took the lead at Lake Casitas Saturday April the 15th with their 6th place finish. The top five teams are only separated by only 68 points so the next tournament is critical for the Angler of the Year title.
