The Friends of Castaic Lake (FOCL) is a separate region consisting of five charity tournaments; National Bass West donates money back for the FOCL for lake and habitat improvements. This region has an Angler Of The Year Race where the winning team gets their basic entries paid for next year. All five tournaments qualify for the year end Tournament Of Champions!
We are excited to announce that the 2023 FOCL tournaments will be held on Saturday nights from 6pm-12am!
Richard Crow has been evolved with National Bass West for many years and is the director for the So-Cal region as well as the FOCL Castaic Nights Region. He has fished multiple regions and was a staff member for 7 years. Richard has been the So-Cal and FOCL tournament director for the past 4 years.
The staff members of the FOCL region include Dennis Stump, Mike McMillan, Louis Arnone and Jim Basham. Richard and his staff run fun and efficient tournaments.
Castaic Lake is the largest state water project reservoir in Southern California, and contains over 11,200 total acres of parkland and open space habitat.
Several State, National and World record fish were caught a Castaic Lake.
Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is a reservoir of the State Water Project. It is one of the Project's largest recreational lakes and the terminal of its west branch. The site includes 29 miles of shoreline. A major attraction is the 425-foot tall Castaic Dam.
Castaic lake is located in northern Los Angeles County, just 45 miles north of downtown L.A., and 40 miles south of the Grapevine, off the 5 Freeway in the City of Castaic. Exit either Lake Hughes Road, or Parker Rd., and go east.
To visit the main Launch Ramp, follow Lake Hughes Road 2 miles up the hill to the entrance - on the left.
