The Nights region will have six tournaments all held at Lake Piru. This region has an Angler Of The Year Race and all six tournaments qualify for the Tournament Of Champions held at Lake Havasu in September.

All NBW night tournaments will be held on Saturday nights from 6pm-12am!

Rick Smith has been bass fishing with co-owner Robert Lutes since the early 90's. After fishing many different tournaments over the years and being frustrated with the lack of organization, payouts and low entries, Rick and Robert decided to invest in a team trail of their own. Striving to be the most sought after team trail in the west, Rick, Robert and the entire National Bass West staff work very hard at doing things the right way. This starts with giving back to the anglers; large paybacks, sponsor raffle items at each event, unique trophies, and free lunch. Next we focus on organization- on time starts and weigh-ins, short wait times to receive awards, easy entries, smooth weight processing and fish conservation.

Lake Piru is located in Los Padres National Forest and Topatopa Mountains of Ventura County, California, created by the construction in 1955 of the Santa Felicia Dam on Piru Creek, which is a tributary of the Santa Clara River.

The Lake Piru Recreation Area, along the western shore, has about 60 acres with various recreational facilities for camping, boating, fishing, and picnicking. The 238 campsites have water and electric hookup along with a snack bar. There are 66 boat slips with a full-service marina.​
